# /master bgm: Control Background Music During Events

> Use /master bgm to stop current background music or manually play a specific track by name for all connected players during a Crystal Legacy event.

Crystal Legacy uses fully custom music playlists tailored to each event phase, automatically starting and transitioning as the event progresses. The `/master bgm` commands let you take manual control of music playback at any time — whether you need to cut the music immediately or trigger a specific track outside of the normal automated flow.

## Stop Music

Immediately stop the currently playing music for all connected players.

**Syntax:**

```bash theme={null}
/master bgm stop
```

## Play a Specific Track

Play any track from the event's music library by name. This starts playback for all connected players immediately.

**Syntax:**

```bash theme={null}
/master bgm play ;song;
```

Replace `;song;` with the name of the track you want to play.

**Example:**

```bash theme={null}
/master bgm play combat_theme
```

> [!NOTE]
>
> Each automated event phase triggers its own music playlist when it starts: **TUTORIAL**, **MINI\_EVENTS**, and **PVP** all begin their respective music automatically. The **DEV** and **WAITING\_PLAYERS** states do not trigger event music. Any manual `/master bgm` command will override the currently active automated playlist.

> [!TIP]
>
> Players control their own music volume through the vanilla Minecraft **Options → Music & Sounds → Music** slider. If a player reports that they cannot hear the music, ask them to check that slider first.
